From many European cities, a flight to the Dominican Republic is possible by charter flights of airlines belonging to the TUI Group tourist holding (TUI fly, Thomson, TUI fly Nordic, Jetairfly, Corsair, TUI fly Netherlands). On the websites of airlines you can buy tickets at fairly attractive prices. It is important to choose a successful connection for flights from Kazakhstan and have a Schengen or English visa, since, as a rule, transfers are associated with changing airports, moving or overnight stays. Such flights are convenient for tourists who combine their vacation in the Dominican Republic with their stay in Europe.
Regular flights
There are many options for regular flights. We will highlight only flights that do not exceed $ 1500USD in cost, are not associated with the need to obtain a Schengen visa and have only 2 transfers when departing from Kazakhstan, which take no more than 5 hours. Today, only routes connected with Air France and Air Europa flights meet these conditions.
Air France
Air France operates daily flights to Punta Cana and twice a week (Monday and Thursday) to Santo Domingo with a landing in Punta Cana, from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), Terminal 2A. Travel time is 9 hours. This flight fits well with the morning flights of Air France and Aeroflot from Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport and Pulkovo Airport from St. Petersburg. Docking time from 1 to 4.5 hours. Flights arrive at the same terminal and no transit visa is required. The cost of a flight from Paris to Punta Cana is from € 575. A flight from Almaty and Astana to Madrid is possible with Turkish Airlines, which makes daily flights from Istanbul to Madrid and has a share code with Air Europa. Airlines flights dock well in Madrid. The connecting time on the way to Punta Cana is 6.25 hours and 7.05 hours on the way back. The cost of a flight from Istanbul to Punta Cana is from €1015. You can check the schedule and purchase tickets on the airline’s website.
It is worth recalling that if you have an American visa, you will have access to flights to the Dominican Republic by regular flights of American airlines, the choice of which is quite large, and there are flights connecting the United States with the Dominican Republic from almost every state.
In conclusion, it should be noted that there are 2 ways to save on air tickets:
– Advance ticket search and price monitoring.
Any airline has many fares for the same flight. The earlier you start your search, the more favorable rates will be available for booking. Sometimes companies offer discounts for certain destinations. You need to start searching for tickets at least two months in advance or as soon as you know the date of your trip.
– Be a tourist on a suitcase.
That is, ready to fly out today or tomorrow. In air travel, as in package tours on charter flights, there is often a chance to purchase a “hot ticket”. But, unfortunately, it is small! And if you are tied to specific dates, it is not recommended to use it, as there is a chance not to fly away at all.
You can compare prices for flights of various airlines using the system, the search block of which is located at the top of the page.
The cruise season in the region lasts all year round, with increased tourist activity during the summer holidays, at Christmas and New Years. The Dominican Republic has several seaports located in all regions of the country. There are 5 cruise terminals on their territory: two in Santo Domingo (central south coast), La Romana (south-east coast), Samana (north-east coast) and Puerto Plata (north-west coast).
Santo Domingo
Cruise ship passengers arrive at one of two port terminals, which are a short drive from most of the cultural and commercial attractions of the capital of the Dominican Republic. The Don Diego cruise terminal is located in the western part of the capital. At a stop, tourists are within walking distance of the historic center of Santo Domingo.
The Sanssouci Cruise Terminal is located in the eastern part of the city, on the opposite side of the Osama River. Nearby attractions include Columbus Lighthouse, National Aquarium and Los Tres Ojos National Park. Tourists are also provided with a transfer to the Don Diego terminal, to the exit to the Colonial City.
La Romana
The tourist port of Casa de Campo is located on the Salao River. The liners stop at one of the two marinas. Tourists are offered transfers to all the main attractions of the region: to the medieval-style village of Altos de Chavon, to Marina Casa de Campo, as well as to the resort’s golf courses. West Pier is within walking distance of La Romana’s many gift shops and craft workshops. Catalina Island, located southwest of the port of La Romana, is also equipped with the necessary facilities to receive cruise ships.
Samana
Cruise ships stop at Samana Bay. Tourists disembark at one of the city’s two marinas, both within walking distance of most of the city’s shops, restaurants and attractions. Some boats stop off at Cayo Levantado.
Puerto Plata
The new cruise port is located 10 km from Puerto Plata and began accepting liners in October 2015. The terminal, called Amber Cove (Amber Bay), is a project of the Carnival cruise company and in the future should become one of the most popular cruise ports in the world. Standard cruise lines are in Puerto Plata, Sosua and Cabarete.
